The Power of Breath

This month on Monday Medi Moments, we’ve been teaching about the power of the breath and how to use it to expand our energetic resources.

Four key things about breath:

  1. Your breath is your reset button and most important resource. You can’t survive without it.

  2. Every breath provides an opportunity to inhale new oxygen and energetic resources, and exhale carbon dioxide and waste from the body. That is the nature of the breath. Inhale, refresh. Exhale, release.

  3. Conscious breathing elevates stress and focuses the mind, just as breathing quickly and shallowly or gasping for air can pique anxiety and confusion.

  4. Cultivating length and quality to your breath helps you relax and soften anxiety, lower your blood pressure, and release toxins from your body.

Breathing is a moving meditation, a powerful one. The breath also helps you ground yourself. If you find yourself drifting from the present moment when you’re meditating, all you have to do is come back to your breath.

Try this:

  • Notice what affects your breath. Breathe consciously. Throughout your day, notice how you’re breathing. Notice the quality of your breath in different situations. What did you discover?

  • To reset quickly: breathe with intention. Inhale, refresh. Exhale, release.

  • Easy mindful meditation practice: simply pay attention to your breath throughout your day.

Breathing brings renewal. You’ll notice that when you experience things that are emotionally or physically disagreeable, you’ll tend to hold your breath and create distraction. That’s why we’re asking you to get curious about how you breathe throughout your day. When you notice yourself gripping or holding your breath, simply take a moment to unclench and breathe deeply. Ahhhhh.

The Month of Unity

The Month of Unity

June is the month of unity. The Greek goddess, Juno, is the deity of marriage. This month on Monday Medi Moments, we’ve explored unity and connection. How do you create unity in your life? Do you acknowledge and seek connection with people?

As you seek and find connection with others, use these four principles to help deepen those connections:

The four principles of unity are:

  1. Self-acceptance: accept yourself for who you are and where you are in life.

  2. Acceptance for others: accept others for who they are and where they are in life.

  3. Accept your role: we’re all a part of the bigger picture of things. We each play a role in the unity of our larger communities. What’s your role?

  4. Gathering all the parts: we’re able to unify when we accept our wholeness.

Cultivating Your Intention

“What you appreciate appreciates.” ~ Lynne Twist

This month on Monday Medi Moments, we’ve focused a lot on cultivating intention. Cultivating intention is important because it brings focus and purpose to your life. If you’ve been feeling a little off your center lately, cultivating intention is a great exercise for you.

When you think about what you want to cultivate in your life, think about what would fulfill you. Keep in mind that while money and other material objects aren’t bad, they don’t necessarily bring you the most fulfillment. We’re taught from a young age that success means having money, but we want you to go deeper. What do you need right now to feel a greater sense of connection to others? What do you need to feel a deeper love for yourself? What is it that will bring you the most healing?

Manifesting in 2019: Your Mission

We bet some of you have forgotten about how many cool things you did last year. So often, we create a list of goals from a place of lack. With that attitude, all you’re going to do is say, “I want, I want, I want.” If you’re doing that, you’re missing the point. Take a moment to think about what you’re grateful for. Take another moment to recognize what you accomplished in 2018. It might surprise you how much you already have.
