Welcome back to Monday Medi Moments! It’s Martin Luther King Day today and we want to honor all he has given and all he has done for this country.

Monday Medi Moments are nutrient-packed mini workshops that include a mindfulness lesson, exercise, and meditation. Each month has a theme that influences every episode for that month. Last week, we discussed setting your intention for the year. If you didn’t see last week’s Monday Medi, you can view it here.

If you like our Monday Medis or if they’re helping you in any way, please like, comment, and share our posts! It makes our day and helps us spread the word!

Last week’s topic:

What’s your word for the year? Your word is your seed. You’ll use this word in your mission statement for the year. A mission statement helps you bring intention and focus to your year.

Today’s lesson:

Refine your intention.

  • Put your word/seed from last week’s lesson in a mission statement that drives your vision for this year.

  • Who do you want to be? How do you want to grow? What’s your vision for yourself in 2020? Your personal mission statement should specifically reflect what you’re cultivating and growing in your life this year.

  • Your mission statement becomes your mantra/prayer for the year. What’s your aim for this year?

In 2019 my mission statement was, “I am happy to share my lessons learned. I release attachment and expand the essence of love.” This year, my mission statement is, “I am supple in my mind, body, and actions.”

In business, your mission statement is the reason your business exists. For example, our mission statement at Self-Discovery Group is, “we provide peace of mind and insight through mindfulness and meditation training.”

Today’s exercise:

Create your mission statement and post it in the comments.

We’ll leave you with this quote:

“But what we can do, as flawed as we are, is still see God in other people, and do our best to help them find their own grace. That’s what I strive to do, that’s what I pray to do every day.”

– Barack Obama
